The intention behind introducing the new Q3 is to be oriented more towards refined on-road experience than off-road capability, unlike the Q5 & Q7 that were primarily meant for off-roading.
The transverse engine layout of Q3 has been combined with flexible steering and stiffened suspension.
It has borrowed many Golf Mk6 or Mk5 components, such as dual clutch transmission and direct shift gearbox. It comes with the choice of both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive variants.
There will be no low-range gearing or lockable differentials, and height-adjustable suspension. Instead, Q3 is featured with sports suspension and larger wheels.
